Creating new exam shells
The exam shell contains all the settings, details, and information related to the exam configuration. These settings can be complex. Meazure Learning can assist with creating an exam shell template with the relevant settings configured.
- Navigate to the Questions and Exams in the Meazure platform.
- Click into the Exams section.
- At the bottom left of the screen, select New Exam.
- Name the exam as it should appear to the candidate.
- This will open the exam shell settings.
Cloning an existing exam shell
Typically, exam shells are cloned from one administration to the next. This preserves the settings that are used and makes room for new content. In some cases where cloning an exam shell is preferable to creating a new one, a master exam shell is built that either does not contain any exam forms.
- Navigate to the Questions and Exams tab in the Meazure platform
- Click into the Exams section.
- Locate the exam that you would like a copy of and select it.
- Select the exam shell to load the full exam shell settings.
- At the bottom of the settings screen, select the Clone Exam button.
- This will load the newly created exam shell. The name of the new exam will be the same as the one that was cloned, with 'Duplicate' at the end.
Note: if French is enabled, 'En double' will also appear in the (French) exam name. - Adjust the exam shell name.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Note: When cloning an exam shell, all exam forms associated with the exam shell will also be cloned.
