- Navigate to the Courses & Exams tab. Select Exams.
- To create a question, click into the destination folder and choose the 'New Question' button on the bottom navigation menu.
- You will be shown a choice of 7 different item types; select the multiple choice item type.
- You will now be looking at what is referred to as the 'Question Editor.' Here you can add the question stem, distractors, answer key, and all corresponding metadata.
- Enter the question stem in the text field beneath the ‘Question Stem’ heading.
- To add distractors, click ‘Add Option…’ and enter the distractor details.
- Select the answer key by ticking the checkbox to the right of the 'correct' option. That distractor will be highlighted in green on the preview screen.
- Click Save.
Notes:
- You may edit the formatting of the text by using the bold, underline, and other formatting issues at the top of each text box.
- Multiple choice questions only accept one correct response and therefore only one of the boxes next to the distractors should be checked off.
- To delete a distractor, click on the trash can icon.
- To change the positioning of a distractor, click on the arrow beside the distractor, and drag and drop it to its new position.
- A maximum of 26 distractors can be used on a Multiple Choice question.
